two.three.four is the freelance outfit for designer, Simon Andrews. Simon brings to this young company significant design and manufacturing experience and a huge amount of enthusiasm and commitment.
Simon studied Product and Furniture Design at Kingston University, graduating in 1999. He swiftly joined Rotadex Systems Ltd and ran a two-year project to establish an in-house design department within the company. The project also saw the development of flix – a desktop, rotary card index – that defined a new direction for the Rotadex brand, and spurred a new generation of products. During this time he also studied part-time on the MA Product Design program at the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (UCE), and was awarded a distinction. Simon went on to become Product Design Manager at Rotadex, responsible for the entire design process for all new products. Recent successes include ‘Fetch’, a mobile office storage caddy that was selected as the ‘Interior Products’ winner and overall ‘Products & Genius’ winner in the B.D.I Industry & Genius Awards, 2005.
Simon began two.three.four in 2004 whilst also working part time as a senior lecturer on the BA (Hons) Product Design course at the University of Central England, in Birmingham. His activity with two.three.four includes the ongoing development of numerous ‘in-house’ products and furniture, and the continuous growth of design consultancy clients.
